A stone doorway through to a brick hallway at Hampton Court Palace.

Hampton Court Palace is a delightful maze. Its scope is Versailles-esque as corridors, rooms, and courtyards go on and on. The upside to visiting in January is that the crowds are minimal (though there’s still the loud school groups, always the loud school groups). The downside is that the gardens are dormant and the skies unlikely to lend themselves to photographic light.
