Greek statuary remains one of my favorite parts of a museum visit. This torso is from the Parthenon rooms of The British Museum. I love the delicacy with which fabric is treated and the contrast that would have had with how garishly these statues would have been painted. The best part of this visit in January was going as part of the out-of-hours tours that the museum offers. Far more quiet and subdued to wander at that time.
